winter in SA

We are in the middle of winter and wearing T-shirts! Winter in South Australia is very different to the one in Victoria - much more sun and almost no wind make it feel much warmer that it really is. We just came back from another busy weekend in Waikerie renovating our airport caravan.

What starts as a general "clean up and some repairs" usually ends in a total reno rumble. It's no different this time. We gutted the whole thing and do it all over again. It's going to be a really cosy place to stay during our flying weekends. There is a long way to go yet but the bedroom part of the caravan should be ready by next weekend. After that we'll do the living and kitchen area.

This is how the interior looked like when we first got it:

This is how it was Saturday morning:

and Sunday afternoon:

The day was certainly perfectly flyable but our Pawnee was gone for an inspection so we were grounded if we wanted it or not.

How can you not love a winter like that? We even got out of the sun for lunch because it just felt too hot!

We are going to Waikerie next weekend to deliver a brand new bed and some other appliances but also get some winter flying in.
