Ziggy's article about flying in Minden, NV has been published in Soaring Australia this month! You are a pretty good writer Zig ;-)

back in Australia

It's been a while since my last post. This blog was meant to be a flying blog and since there hasn't been much of that lately ... Oh well, here it is again.
I arrived to Australia in November 2010 hoping to get some good flying and practice for the upcoming World Championships during the famous Australian summer season. Sometimes things are not working the way they are supposed to. Long story short: the weather has been crap. I've flown the Australian Club Class Nationals in Benalla in January. All in all we managed to get 6 flying days, all of them in very complex and unpredictable conditions. Hard work. Especially for someone not familiar with the area at all. There were bets if Ziggy can kick my butt over there. And he did indeed. I'm not trying to find excuses and have to admit: he was flying better than I did and therefore got 20 more points in the final results :-)

Benalla Airport
The first week of Autumn in Australia is over. Rain, rain, rain ... It's about time to start preparations for the Europe trip. I just registered for the Worlds and started making accommodation arrangements. Let's hope the European Summer will be better than the Australian one ...
