another weekend at the field

Saturdays weather was just beautiful and it usually sort of automatically brings everyone to the airfield. We got there around 10am and sure enough there was more and more of them driving in. Most of the hangar doors opened and stuff has been pulled out. Watching this kind of activities always makes me feel good. Ziggy has one patient, a very old man but still bright. He used to fly in his younger years and always tells Ziggy stories when he comes for a visit. Since he's very nice Ziggy told him we'll be out at the field on weekend and he's welcome to come too and have a look around todays flying activities. He couldn't resist, was there even before us and just couldn't believe his luck when I invited him for a short flight in the new club plane. It took us a while to get him in it but we succeeded and made the old man very happy. I was surprised how aware his was and how much of flying he actually remembered. He run with me through the whole run-up procedure commenting on every step. I wish I could do it when I'm in his age one day.

ready to go - he seems happy :-)

Everyone who wanted then had a go in the Pacer and after all we gave it a nice bubble bath. MOM was not the only lucky plane in the club - the big Jabiru got one as well.

nice job MOM

Here is one more airport story. Have you ever wondered how many pilots does it take to put the engine cowling back on the small Jabiru? Just two of them seem to be not enough. They look pretty hopeless to me.

WTF?

So there is more. Will five of them be enough?

smile to the camera

The sixth one seems to be essential. They got it!

so that's how it goes!

All in all it was a really nice weekend and I got few more landings trying to learn to keep MOM under control. I thought it would be easier with all my tail wheel experience during the years. It's a tricky little airplane though.

again, welcome to the club MOM!
