Resting bones in LV

Las Vegas is a great place but only for couple of days at a time. We are leaving for Minden, NV tomorrow but we will come back again. Yesterday was an extremely hot day: 115F or +46.1°C. It was hard to handle and I couldn't imagine staying outside for longer periods of time. We decided to take the day very easy today and just get some deserved rest.
One of the cool things about this place is the fact that you can have a beer at 11am an nobody will wonder. So we went for brekkie, a walk and had beer at a brewery we knew from last time for lunch.

another hot day

The degree of artificiality exceeds all the boundaries in this place. Where else can you have an indoor shopping mall looking exactly like it was outside having a thunderstorm with real rain shower every half an hour? No, I'm not kidding ... you can even get wet:

We spent the other half of the day in one of the MGM Grand swimming pools. This one is actually called adult pool and swimming is not welcomed there. You are just supposed to chill in the water and keep ordering drinks from girls running around the pool.

too many pools to choose

I left the pool for just a few minutes and when I came back Ziggy already had half of the people there around listening to his stories. He's the master. We had a great few hours with a big group from all over US that comes back every two years to celebrate somebody's birthday. Funny people.

After yesterday's experience having trouble finding a table for dinner we decided to make an experiment. We dressed a bit better (means no shorts and flip-flops) and sure enough the first place we asked for a table without having a reservation had one straight away. Coincidence?

Drive to Minden, NV is on agenda tomorrow. Besides catching up with friends I also need to get my BFR. It's gonna be a pretty long but already well known drive.
